Duo Dunya perform as a duo for Yehudi Menuhin’s Live Music Now and Music in Hospitals, two charity organisations that provide live performances and music workshops in schools, care centres and hospitals as well as in public performances.
I feel really strongly about the opportunity to perform for young and old people that don’t get the opportunity to hear live music often.
The repertoire is based on a journey through music and songs from the Mediterranean and old European folk songs. Kalia is doing an amazing job at collecting repertoire and information about the music that we perform and the audiences are always appreciative at the various elements of tradition they get to experience during the performances that include music, song, dance and snippets of history.
